Motion Text: To approve the proposed editorial revisions to the University Senate Bylaws as indicated in the supporting document entitled "March 2010 Editorial Revisions."
Motion Text: To replace Article VI of the University Senate Bylaws with the proposed revision as indicated in the supporting document entitled "March 2010 Two-tier Revision Process."
Article VI. Changes to these Bylaws Any proposed changes to these bylaws must be submitted to the Executive Committee in writing with and must have the written support of at least three (3) University Senators. The Executive Committee shall make a report and recommendation to the University Senate regarding the proposed change. A motion shall be made regarding the disposition and postponed until the next meeting. A change shall be adopted with a majority of those eligible to vote favoring adoption and upon approval of the University President.

Committees" with the supporting information

Having reviewed the GCSU Quality Enhancement Plan, Applauding the
efforts of GCSU Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Committees, and the Steering
Committee, Noting with concern the issues surrounding the
development of the QEP impact response report, Further
applauding the development of the QEP 5th year response report:
Endorses the achievements of the QEP/SACS/Steering committees in the use of strategic-focusing initiatives to focus GCSU efforts on Initiatives 3 (review of learning outcomes and general education) and 5 (learning beyond the classroom);
Commends the QEP/SACS/Steering committees for making recommendations to meet the SACS standards and the implementation of a university-wide annual assessment program;
Appreciates the compilation of the materials from the various teams into a coherent, seamless narrative that meets SACS requirements;
Further Proclaims a special thank-you to all involved, including the review board, in the development of the 5th year Mid-term Interim Response Report Production Plan;
Takes note of the tremendous responsibility entrusted to the Steering Committee for the development and dissemination of the 5th year Mid-term Interim Response Report. Institutional Planning is important at Georgia College & State University and is guided by a commitment to the role of research, planning, and assessment processes in advancing the university's mission, improving student learning and success, and guiding operational effectiveness.
