I hope this email finds you enjoying your summer. I wanted to touch base with you and let you know that Dr. Herbst asked me to follow up on your request that we revisit our policy on notice of non-renewal for lecturers and senior lecturers (Board Policy 803.04). I am happy to do so and look forward to working with you on this issue.

It may take us a little longer than usual to get back to you as some of the key people in our Legal Affairs Office are out of the office for the next few weeks. I hope you will understand that we need their thoughts, as well as the input from other System Office leaders, on this issue. Of course, I would also like to get input from our campus leadership on possible implications from policy changes in this area. That process will take a little time. Should a policy change recommendation be forthcoming, the next available Board meeting is not until August, so we have some time to engage the relevant folks in this conversation.
