· Agree on final agenda items and time limits (5 minutes)
· Continue the discussion on power to develop governing concepts and implications for bylaws (15 minutes):
o Discuss: Envision the university as having a shared sense of purpose enacted by one body of policy approved by the president and recommended by one final body of shared governance
§ Entertain proposals of how to improve the structure of standing committees by redefining who decides, what and how.
· Continue reviews of the literature on the areas of the effectiveness table:
o Resources: Anne Gormly, Craig Turner (15 minutes)
o Use of Communication Systems: Quintus Sibley (15 minutes)
· Develop tentative list of Governing Concepts including disposition of Agreement 1. (10 minutes)
· Develop agenda for November 09 meeting (5 minutes) Management/Leadership: Ken Farr, Mike Whitfield; Teaching/Learning: Lee Gillis; Shared Sense of Purpose: Cheryl Reynolds
