Other notes
1 Consider having Staff Council and SGA make reports
periodically at Senate Meetings to support shared information.
2. Consider
monthly (periodic) coordination among the Executive Committees of
University Senate, Staff Council and SGA officers. As each of the University Senate, Staff Council, and SGA have a line
to the University President, this type of coordination could be
useful as a means to share information and steer items of business
to the appropriate body, which might be outside these three
organizations, for consideration and disposition.
3. Some of the specifications of the domain (area of
responsibility) require further clarification by the drafting
committee for review by USBGCC.
4.
Consider redistributing the six by title and six
presidential appointees to a mix of students, staff, and
presidential appointees,
Specifically: 1 Student selected by SGA
with one year term, 4 Staff elected for two year terms with Staff
Council devising election procedure, 7 Presidential Appointees one
of which is a graduate student. Note: With this proposal Vice
Presidents would be members of the Senate only if they were named as
Presidential appointees.
5. Consider drafting bylaws providing guidance to committees
on bringing in consultants (possibly realized as ex officio voting
members) as needed to address the current issues before the
committee. (e.g.. if the academic policy committee is
considering drop/add policy, bring in the local drop/add expert).

of the University Senate?
