Subject: FAPC: Annual Report DRAFT

Greetings 2011-2012 FAPC members,

At the 02 Mar 2012 FAPC meeting, you charged me to prepare a draft of the 2011-2012 FAPC annual report for your review at the 06 Apr 2012 FAPC meeting. Here is the relevant excerpt from the meeting minutes.

A motion was made and seconded to adopt this same process for 2011-2012, specifically to have Craig prepare a draft of the committee annual report for committee review at its 06 April 2012 meeting; noting that this draft shall defer the following sections to the committee for completion: committee reflections, committee recommendations, and recommended items for consideration at the governance retreat. After some discussion about whether the best approach was to have the chair complete a draft for committee review or if members of the committee should be more involved in the preparation of the draft report, this motion was approved.

I have just posted this DRAFT of the committee annual report as a supporting document to item 4.B on the 06 Apr 2012 agenda

http://info.gcsu.edu/intranet/univ_senate/SCs2011-2012/FAPC/FAPC_Agenda_2012-04-06.htm

While the DRAFT report is 24 pages long, much of this length is in the "Details" sections of the issues which are timelines documenting the committee deliberation of each issue. These details sections are taken essentially verbatim from meeting minutes or reports to SCC/ECUS or reports to University Senate and thus likely do not need as careful a review as the parts I drafted.

Thus, you might just scan the "Details" (timelines) and review with more care the following portions of this draft:

(1) All of page 1

(2) The Motions and Significant Deliberations preface on Page 5

(3) The Issue/Significance/Summary text for each of the six issues documented on pages 5-14

(4) The Issue/Summary text for each of the ten issues (six individually and one bundle of four issues) documented on pages 14-20

(5) The Workgroup and Followup from 2010-2011 FAPC sections on pages 20-24
