Subject: Summer Pay
Colleagues,
I am pleased to inform you that effective Summer 2011, we have received
authorization to provide payment to faculty teaching Maymester term
immediately following the term. In the past, this payment was dispersed in
July. I want to thank the Faculty Affairs Policy Committee (FAPC) for
keeping this issue in front of us and for Susan Allen, Chief Budget Officer
and Director of Payroll Services for her diligence in finding a solution.
In light of this change, Faculty will now receive summer term compensation
on the final day of grade submission for each session.
Maymester - June 3, 2011
Summer I - July 8, 2011
Summer II - August 5, 2011
We continue to look into how the new policy on faculty overload payments
will impact the summer 33-1/3 limitation calculation, if at all. As new
information becomes available, we will keep you posted.
Thank you for your patience while we worked to find a solution. If you have
any questions, please let us know.
