Standing Committee Officers,
Thank you in advance for your service this senate term as officers of the University Senate Standing Committees.
To assist in your preparation for your officer role, ECUS would like to schedule a Standing Committee Officer Orientation session. Even if you are a returning officer, we strongly recommend you attend the session as Craig Turner will provide an extensive overview of the new senate website and instruction on navigating the new motion submission system. Additional topics of discussion include, but are not limited to:
· Distinction among policy, procedure, information items
· How to determine if an item should be in your committee.
· Agenda coordination
· Minutes format
· Committee Operating Procedures
· Roles of officers
· Officer coordination with predecessor to promote continuity (e.g. incoming chair coordinate with outgoing chair)
· Annual Comprehensive Committee Report Template
· Emerging themes from the most recent Governance Retreat
· Advertise committee meeting agenda on senate website
Please use the following Doodle link to indicate your availability to attend. If necessary, we will schedule more than one session to ensure full participation.
