Committee recommendations from May Retreat

Academic Governance: Invite stakeholders to committee meetings and publish topics in advance of the meeting.

Budget and Planning: Bring administrators who are likely to be responsible for implementation of the change/idea/proposal into committee deliberations.

Services: Conduct public hearings and consult with constituencies to get input necessary to construct final motions. 

Student Affairs:  Committees should be sure the objectives of committee deliberations are clear so that when people are asked to give input it will not appear as a summons.

Should committee members have an opportunity to review the committee meeting minutes prior to posting?

Should committee reports include (as appropriate) philosophy, committee vote, majority/minority reports, rational (pros and cons), summary of committee work, timelines, implementation recommendations, budget implications?
