Dear Standing Committee Officers,
First let me thank you for attending the meeting this morning with the ECUS and providing valuable input into the annual report form and flow of information concerns.  Your presence was indeed appreciated.

Action item 1: On September 15th, I sent an email to the standing committee chairs.  At that time, the ECUS charged committees to work together to solve problems and identify issues related to the smooth operation of Senate business.  The idea that committee chairs need to meet surfaced again this morning.

We agreed that the standing committee chairs should meet once a month as a group with the ECUS; however, that does not preclude you from meeting without us prior to the meetings.   The dates for the meetings are March 2 and April 6 in the President's office at 10:00 am.  Please send another officer from your committee if you cannot attend the meetings yourself.

Action item 2:
Please discuss ways to document discussions not acted upon at your standing committee meetings with the members of your committee.  This will also be an agenda item for the retreat in May.

Action item 3: The draft of the annual report form was approved with two changes  The section entitled "Committee Membership and Record of Attendance" and Committee Calendar will be completed by the ECUS.  The ECUS will update the form, include vital information, and distribute it to chairs.

Action item 4: Use the remaining ten weeks of this academic year to seek out and identify issues related to your area.

Thanks again for attending the meeting this morning.  I know we all benefited from the conversation.

Respectfully,
Betty
