Subject: Agenda Breakfast Meeting

Dear Standing Committee Officers,
Please find attached a draft copy of the annual report form (previously sent by Craig) and the agenda for the Breakfast with the Executive Committee Meeting - 6:53 am Wednesday, February 23rd, President's Banquet Room.  Please read the agenda before the meeting and ponder the questions posed by the ECUS.

Additionally, please be prepared to give an update of your committee plans for the new year (I have copied below the email I previously sent to you).  Nothing fancy, just a brief overview of your time line for completing unfinished business and any issues that you are planning on addressing before the end of the academic year.

We look forward to your input in the annual reporting process and your plans for the remainder of the year.

See you bright and early on Wednesday!
Betty

"Dear Standing Committee Chairs,
Now that we are beginning a new year, I would like for us to begin aligning our thinking in a few ways (I am doing this with the Executive Committee too). First, let's finish or create timelines to complete any unfinished business that our committees have begun.  Go through your parking lots and clean out as many things as you can this academic year.  One good place to go is the executive summary that the past chair made at the end of last year.  Second, have a dialogue with your committee members and others to seek out and identify concerns within your areas of responsibility (as stated in the by-laws).  For example, I am asking the ECUS to think about how we can actively support and promote the culture of change and visibility that we need for shared governance to work.  Third, brainstorm with your group about how we can create an even more efficient system of information flow.

I, and the other members of the ECUS, are here to listen and respond to your ideas - so please don't hesitate to contact us about them.  Also, remember to send your agendas to us so that we can track what we are all doing.

Thanks for all you are doing for GC&SU and the Senate,
Respectfully,
Betty"
