Subject: Faculty Awards Document - feedback requested by March 1, 2010
Thread-Topic: Faculty Awards Document - feedback requested by March 1, 2010
Dear University Senate,
After much discussion, consultation, and consideration, the Faculty Affairs
Policy Committee has come to the conclusion that the Faculty Awards document
we have been working on falls more in the category of procedure, rather than
policy, and that our role regarding them is advisory rather than one that
calls for a motion or a vote.
FAPC feels that the latest revised document addresses concerns that were
brought up during discussion about awards prior to and during the November
Senate Meeting and has endorsed the attached document regarding Faculty
Awards.
Rather than waiting to inform you about this decision at the next Senate
Meeting and have a rushed turn around time, FAPC is submitting our endorsed
document (attached to this email) to the University Senate now for feedback
from you and your constituents. Additional information regarding changes
that have been made to this document can be found in FAPC agendas located on
the Senate website:
http://info.gcsu.edu/intranet/univ_senate/SCs2009-2010/FAPC/
These revisions would be in effect beginning the 2010-2011 academic year.
Any feedback you have should be submitted to me by March 1, 2010 for
consideration at the next FAPC meeting. After that meeting, the Faculty
Awards Document will be routed to the Provost and off FAPC's docket.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me directly.
Sincerely,
Lee Digiovanni
