The Executive Committee
met on 3, 8, and 17 of February and a subgroup held a glossary work session
on 27 January.

Elections -- Oversight and At-Large

Received election
results and processes from academic units for Elected Faculty Senator
positions

At-Large election is
currently being conducted

Surveys for 2010-2011
elected faculty senators to express preference for committee and officer
service and for faculty to volunteer to serve on standing committees of
the 2010-2011 University Senate will be going out shortly

The Governance Retreat
Planning Work Group is engaged

The Standardized Review
of Policy Work Group is engaged

Continuing to review
draft checklist for use by facilitators of the organizational meetings of
Standing Committees

Coordinated with Standing
Committee Chairs to finalize the agenda for the 2 Feb 2010 University Senate
meeting. SCCs and ECUS finalized the template and due date for committee
annual reports and SCCs were advised to begin to collaborate with committees
on annual report

Governance calendar for
2010-11 was endorsed by ECUS and SCC and at present is under review by Deans
and Department Chairs for feedback and suggestions;

Steered to APC the
2011-13 academic calendar
Non-routine business (some
discussion):

Continued to coordinate
with Web-enabled Resources on the on-line motion database and the electronic
presence of the University Senate. For instance, the latest motions entered
into the database are not displaying as entered. Personnel in W-eR have
many obligations and continue to work with ECUS to create useful products
for the US.

want to recognize the people in this department for their assistance

Barbara Monnett and Shane Brooks, in University Communications, showed ECUS
the work they have done to create a more useful minutes database.

Discussed and endorsed a Resolution to recognize the work to complete the
QEP/SACs 5th Year Report response be seen as a precedent for
recognizing the work of others on campus

Ongoing discussions on possible revisions to bylaws
