Curriculum and Assessment Policy Committee (CAPC) Report

Proposal: Policy proposal from Deborah Vess and ECUS:

CAPC reviewed a proposal from the College of Arts and Sciences for a new minor in Creative Music Media.  No one was present to answer questions concerning the new minor.  Therefore, CAPC will request someone be present at the next meeting to respond to questions. 

Discussion item:

Deborah Vess suggested that for now and in the future CAPC inquire into whether proposed degree programs, minors, and certificates include an assessment plan and have goals and outcomes clearly stated.  It is important that all programs start with an eye to continuous improvement through ongoing assessment.  Those processes should start at planning stage of the program.
