Replacement for the At-Large elected faculty senator position vacated by Dr. Autumn Grubb
ü Term commences at the Spring organizational meeting, Wed. April 25, 2007
ü Term ends Spring 2009
Eligibility to serve as Senator
University Senate Bylaws Article II, Section 1.A.2. Elected faculty members must have at least two (2) years of service at Georgia College & State University at the time they take office and shall be elected for two (2) year terms. Faculty elections for the forthcoming academic year shall be held during the spring semester of the current academic year and shall take place in each academic unit by secret ballot after open nominations. It will be the responsibility of the Executive Committee to ensure that the terms for all academic units shall be staggered so that approximately one half of the University Senate membership changes in any given year. Elected faculty representation shall be limited to faculty in the Corp of Instruction.

o Nominated faculty must accept his or her nomination in order to be placed on the ballot
ü Eligibility to Vote
§ Corps of Instruction counted in the apportionment of Senators
ü Voting method: Electronic secret ballot
§ The faculty person receiving the most votes will be declared At-Large University Senator
§ In the event of a tie, the winner will be selected through a blind draw.
§ Dates
o Opens Monday, Feb 19th
o Closes Thursday, Feb 22nd
ü Announcement of Election Results no later than March 1st
Replacement for At-Large Senator
In the event of a need to replace the At-Large senator at any time during his or her term of service, the candidate who received the second highest number of votes will be contacted to determine his or her willingness to serve. If necessary, the candidate who received the third highest number of votes would be contacted. If neither of these candidates is willing to serve, a replacement election will be conducted in compliance with the University Senate Bylaws.
