To begin this process, nominations will be accepted from members of the University Corps of Instruction. Nominations should be sent electronically to Michelle Marks, Secretary for the Undergraduate Division of Nursing (michelle.marks@gcsu.edu), no later than Thursday, February 15, 2007. (Replies to this email message will go directly to Michelle Marks).

Each nominee will be contacted and included on a ballot should (s)he accept the nomination. Each member of the Corps of Instruction will have the opportunity to vote by secret ballot for one candidate and that vote will occur Monday, February 19 through Thursday, February 22, 2007. The candidate who earns the most votes will be declared At-Large University Senator.

In the event of a need to replace the At-Large senator at any time during his or her term of service, the candidate who received the second highest number of votes will be contacted to determine his or her willingness to serve. If necessary, the candidate who received the third highest number of votes will be contacted.  If neither of these candidates is willing to serve, a replacement election will be conducted in compliance with the University Senate Bylaws.

To avoid nominating a faculty member already scheduled to serve on the University Senate, a list of the faculty that will be serving on the University Senate for the 2007-2008 academic year is available at:
