University Senate for the
2007-2008 academic year. Below is a job description to help communicate

position, the particular responsibilities
may be modified at the joint discretion of the successful candidate and
his/her supervisor(s).
As a follow-up to our phone conversation today, I am requesting you to reply

most one page) statement indicating your comfort, relevant experience, and
needs for on-the-job-training
in assuming the anticipated responsibilities (see the job description
below), and a list of three to five references

DESCRIPTION***************************************************************
Responsibilities of the Graduate Assistant position for the University
Senate during the 2007-2008 academic year.
(1) assist officers of both Senate and committees as requested,
(2) produce reports as requested,
(3) perform research for committees as requested,
(4) take minutes as requested,
(5) update the Senate website and/or databases as requested,
(6) assist with public relations efforts, and
(7) other duties as assigned.
In addition, the graduate assistant may benefit from the experience of
serving in this role as it will
provide opportunities to increase his/her familiarity with shared governance
in an academic setting.
