Charge: The Coverdell Institute Steering Committee is charged to serve as an advisory group and guide the institute as it endeavors to fulfill the missions of GC&SU and the Coverdell Institute. The institute is dedicated to promoting civic engagement, researching public policy issues, developing citizenry and leadership skills that will advance democracy, welcoming distinguished scholars to speak and research, and enhancing the university international education efforts. These activities are conducted with the knowledge that the institute represents a living legacy to Senator Paul Coverdell’s lifelong commitment to liberty, learning and leadership and serves the public good.
