·        Be prepared by reading all materials prior to meetings

·        Be familiar with Robert’s Rule of Order for full Senate meetings

·        Explore methods to keep your constituency informed

·        Be proactive and use the University Senate resources

·        Increase your visibility as a University Senator by wearing your University Senator pin

·        Encourage your constituents to attend Committee and/or University Senate meetings

·        Being a University Senator is an opportunity to learn about the University as a whole

·        It is at the committee level where the bulk of the work of the University Senate takes place
