WHEN MIGHT THE PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE BYLAWS TAKE EFFECT?

As the bylaws are fundamental to its operation, the University Senate requires a two-meeting format for consideration of amendments to them.  In addition to informing the review of Senators with contextual information supplied at the first meeting, this format provides time for each senator to consult with his/her constituency between the meetings and for the university community to participate in the discussion and review the changes.  The proposed revisions will be presented to the University Senate at the January 29th meeting and postponed for vote to the February 26th meeting.  Both of these meetings are open meetings and scheduled for 12:30 pm 1:45 pm in  Arts & Sciences 2-72.  Should the University Senate support the proposed revisions, the revisions must then be approved by President Leland for them to be implemented.
