The Senate Student Affairs Committee held its organizational meeting on Friday, August 26, 2005. The following officials were elected for the 2005/6 academic year:

Chair:               Eustace Palmer

Vice Chair:       J.J.Arias

Secretary:         Beate Czogalla

The committee reviewed the Executive Committee of Senate’s operating procedures and decided on the following as its own operating procedures:

We will discuss agenda items, bring in guest speakers to address relevant questions, and arrive at decisions through consensus. All officers of the committee will be elected every year.

We reviewed the calendar, noted the dates scheduled for the committee’s meetings, and had a brief discussion of the issues we would like to take up during the year.

The tentative agenda for the next meeting on 9/2/05 in 110 Atkinson will include:

1. Availability of campus services on weekends and after hours, particularly with regard to weekend classes and seminars.

2. The upcoming 5 year self study in the area of Athletics (NCAA).
