Name of Administrative Committee: University Technology Committee

Person or position/office to whom this administrative committee makes recommendations : Jim Wolfgang, Chief Information Officer

Source of authority for this administrative committee: The administrative committee replaces and restructures the previous University Technology Committee. Creation endorsed by the University Services Committee as a resource in meeting the University Services charge concerning technology and related security issues.

Charge of committee/council: The jurisdiction of the Technology Committee shall be as follows. It shall:

1. Implement, evaluate and recommend updates of the University Technology Strategic Plan. 2. Develop recommendations, to be forwarded to the President and the President’s Cabinet, concerning funding for technology. 3. Develop recommendations, to be forwarded to the University Senate, for University policies, procedures and guidelines related to use of technology. 4. Initiate and/or support strategies to maintain relevance of technology for University mission. 5. Facilitate the use of technology to promote the comprehensive learning environment. 6. Provide advice and consultation to the Chief Information Officer. 7. Work in concert with other university and external committees, groups and individuals, to accomplish the above initiatives.

The Technology Committee shall be advisory to the Chief Information Officer. Recommendations for policies, procedures or guidelines or amendments thereto shall be submitted to the University Services Committee or such other Senate committee as the Senate Executive Committee deems appropriate.

Membership of committee/council: The Chief Information Officer (CIO) The Director of Legal Affairs A representative appointed by the head of the following entities: • Enrollment Services • University Library • Division of Business and Finance • Staff Council • School of Business • School of Education • School of Health Sciences • School of Liberal Arts & Sciences • Student Government Association • Public Safety
